The survey is available online in English and Spanish. Surveys in English and Spanish are also available in hard copy, large print and Braille. Please contact our office at 208-334-3800 if you need help or to request a survey be mailed to you. The survey remains open until September 15, 2026.  We want to hear from people with disabilities. We also value the input of family members and friends who can help people with disabilities complete the survey or complete it on their behalf.  It is okay to complete the survey more than one time.  It isn’t scientific. We know that needs change based on the day.

We use the survey responses to help us develop our next State Plan for Independent Living.  We also use the information to share with policy makers about the things that make life harder and better for Idahoans with disabilities.  All information remains confidential and comments are combined with others so that you can’t be identified unless you want to be, and you ask for timely follow-up from a Center for Independent Living.  When you request follow up, that information is only shared with the Center serving your area.

AARP Idaho

The AARP Idaho State Office serves as the primary hub for AARP’s work across Idaho, dedicated to improving the lives of residents age 50+ and their families.

It focuses on:

• Advocacy on key issues affecting older adults, including Social Security, health access, and caregiving.
• Community engagement, offering education, events, fraud prevention programs, and support resources designed for Idahoans across the state.
• Empowering older adults through tools, programs, and information that support financial security, health, and independence.

Aware Care — formerly known as the Ada Registry for the Vulnerable Population (ARVP) — is a voluntary registry managed by Ada County 911 Dispatch. The program has been refreshed and expanded to better serve anyone in our community who may need additional support during an emergency.

Residents can share important information through Aware Care to help first responders provide informed, safe, and personalized assistance when it matters most. All information is kept confidential and securely shared only with first responders. The program also helps responders quickly locate and safely return individuals who may wander or go missing.

Registration is voluntary and must be renewed annually. For questions, please email awarecare@adacounty.id.gov
