Proper Technique PREVENTS Injury
Getting out of bed and out of the house is important for the mental and physical health of both the caregiver and the care receiver. Eating out with friends, visiting family, and attending church is still possible despite mobility challenges.
Good transfer technique prevents undue strain and injuries for both people. The first step is watching this video series to get the basics. Then consider making an appointment with a Physical Therapist to refine your skills. Remember the person being transferred should always do as much as they can to help.
