Malnutrition Awareness Week

The Idaho Commission partnered with the American Society Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN). “The Idaho Commission on Aging, an official ambassador of ASPEN`s Malnutrition Awareness Week™.

Malnutrition Awareness Week is an annual, multi-organizational campaign created by ASPEN to:

  • Educate healthcare professionals about early detection and treatment of malnutrition
  • Educate consumers/patients on the importance of discussing their nutritional status with healthcare professionals
  • Increase awareness of nutrition’s role on patient recovery

ASPEN Malnutrition  Awareness Week, with the help of ambassadors, corporate sponsors, and collaboration with liked-minded societies, have grown exponentially around the world, reaching more than 9.8 million healthcare professionals, policy makers, influencers, and the public. This year, ASPEN is once again partnering with the British Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (BAPEN) and the Canadian Nutrition Society (CNS) to learn from each other and aid each other’s efforts.
